Description
GHK-Cu is a copper-peptide complex composed of glycine, L-histidine, L-lysine and a single Cu(II) ion. The molecule is well characterised in the literature as a high-affinity copper carrier with biological activity that derives from both the tripeptide backbone and the bound metal. Our product is supplied as a lyophilised solid intended for reconstitution and in-vitro experimental work.
In cellular assays, GHK-Cu can be evaluated for its role in regulating bioavailable copper, a trace element essential for the activity of multiple metalloenzymes involved in connective tissue formation, antioxidant defence, and mitochondrial respiration. Independent of its copper-delivery function, the GHK tripeptide has been examined in transcriptomic studies for differential modulation of genes linked to wound-related signalling cascades and tissue-remodelling pathways.
Research uses include:
- Cellular assays examining copper homeostasis and metalloenzyme activity
- Microarray and RNA-seq studies of GHK-responsive gene programmes
- Comparative work versus other copper-binding ligands or free copper salts
- Investigations of peptide-driven effects on matrix metalloproteinase expression
For laboratory and research use only. Not for human or animal consumption. Purchasers must be at least 18 years of age.
